Somerset Day(s)
Orchard Blossom Days
Dowding’s will be celebrating hundreds of blossoming apple trees, at the start of National Cider Week. There should also be bluebells in the adjoining wood.
Desi Cafe from Bruton will be offering hot apple themed food.
Our friends from the Pitcombe Rock Falconry will be in attendance with some birds of prey – weather permitting. We depend on owls for pest control in our organic orchards. There is a £1 entry “fee” which is to support the Falconry.
Mrs. Browse will be with us offering her preserves and chutneys.
Parking will be on the adjoining field. If you have limited mobility we will endeavour to get you a spot nearer to Apple HQ.
Dogs welcome, but please ensure they are on leads.
We’ll be open from 10 to 8, Saturday and Sunday. We may light a fire later in the day if it’s dry.

Somerset Days – 11th -12th May
Another great day out in Dowding’s orchards is coming up, this time to celebrate everything Somerset!
Somerset Day is on May 11th and we will be open for both days during the weekend, from 10a.m. to 8p.m. The Somerset flag will be flying!
The ever popular Pitcombe Rock Falconry team will be on hand with a display of some of their owls and birds of prey, weather permitting. We will be raising money for them through a £1/adult entry charge.
We will have excellent hot food for you to enjoy, courtesy of a pop-up provided by the popular Somerset pub, The Kings Arms in Montacute. We harvest apples from the National Trust orchards in Montacute, and also at their Barrington Court House.
You will have the opportunity to wander amongst 15 acres of apple trees, some of which may be still in blossom.
